‘GUTS with heart’: Olivia Rodrigo donates all Manila show earnings to support women’s health in PHL

Filipino-American pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo has donated all the proceeds from the Manila leg of her “GUTS” World Tour to Jhpiego Philippines, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving women’s and girls’ health in the country.

The “vampire” and “driver’s license” hitmaker took the stage for her Manila concert on Saturday, October 5, at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

During the show, Olivia declared her Pinoy pride as she expressed her joy to be back in the country.

“I’m so happy to be in Manila. […] This is a dream come true. I wanted to come here for as long as I can remember. Today is the day. I’m so thankful you guys showed up,” she told the crowd of fans, fondly known as “Livies.”

“I [really want] to say, proud Pinoy ako,” Olivia declared, playfully referencing her song “So American” as she shared how she felt “so Filipino” before launching into the performance, much to the delight of her cheering Livies.

This marked her first-ever performance in the Philippines, which she described as her “biggest venue ever” and a moment she had long been looking forward to. The Philippine Arena is said to be capable of accommodating 55,000 attendees.

“[B]een dreaming of this show for a whileeeee. [M]y first time in the Philippines and also my biggest venue ever!!!!! [T]hank you to everyone Manila for welcoming me so generously and making me feel so loved,” Olivia wrote in her Instagram post.

What made the event even more special was the affordable ticket pricing, with all seats sold at a flat rate of ₱1,500, ensuring that more fans could attend.

Olivia’s decision to donate all net proceeds to Jhpiego Philippines was a reflection of her ongoing commitment to empowering women and girls, aligning with her global initiative, “Fund 4 Good.”

Fund 4 Good is a charitable organization founded by Rodrigo to support community-based nonprofits focused on advancing girls’ education, and reproductive rights, and preventing gender-based violence.

Her contribution to Jhpiego Philippines aims to “improve the health and lives of women and girls in the Philippines, especially in underserved and conflict-affected areas.”

The 20-year-old singer visited the organization’s headquarters in Manila and praised their efforts in providing vital healthcare services to Filipino women and girls.

“I’m so stoked that all the net ticket sales from last night could be donated to @jhpiego through my fund 4 good,” Olivia shared. “I got to visit the organization while I was in Manila and was so impressed by the work they are doing providing healthcare to women and girls in the Philippines.”

Concluding her post, Olivia described her visit to her ancestral country as both “special” and “meaningful.”

“It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip. Saying I’m grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it! Mahal kita,” she wrote, using the Filipino phrase for “I love you.”
