Viral candyman Angelito Gino-Gino, also known as Lolo Lolito or “Lolo Pops,” has passed away.
In a Facebook page dedicated to Lolo Pops, it was announced that the elderly candy vendor passed away just three days after his wife, Pacita dela Cruz Gino-Gino,succumbed to death.
“Thank you Lo, for being such an inspiration to all of us.You have shown us that no matter how bitter the world is, there’s a candy of yours that will make the world as sweet as your smile,” read the Facebook post.
“Thank you for bringing sweetness [to] the lives of Pampangueños,” it added.
Days prior to his death, heartbreaking photos of Lolo Pops mourning before his wife’s casket were posted in a recent Facebook update.
Lolo Pops went viral a few years back when he was spotted selling near Angeles University Foundation in Pampanga, to provide for his family.
Amid the pandemic restrictions in 2020, a Pampanga-based food delivery app owner offered to put “Lolo Pops”‘ homemade sweets online to help him sell his products and shouldered the cost delivery as well.
