Maris Racal recently reminisced about the unscripted moment in her trending “Mama mo!” scene with onscreen partner Anthony Jennings from the Kapamilya series “Can’t Buy Me Love.”
Sharing the amusing anecdote on the “Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast,” hosted by director Antoinette Jadaone, Maris detailed the hilarious exchange that took place during the scene that went viral.
“‘Who’s your date?’ Sabi niya, ‘Mama mo!’ Ta’s wala ’yun sa script,” Maris revealed.
The director expressing surprise, remarked, “Ah wala ’yun sa script din? Ay iba, ang galing.”
Recalling her initial reaction to the unexpected line, Maris explained, “Tapos biglang… na-taken aback ako kasi parang, ha wait lang, gets ko ’yung ‘Mama mo’ eh ta’s tatawa pa dapat ako eh.
“Si Irene ako, sabi ko, ‘What’s mama mo?’ Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Mama ko?’ Ta’s sabi niya, ‘Oo, mama mo,” the actress narrated their exchange.
“Ganda! Parang birthday mo… birthday ko?!” Direk Antoinette chimed in with enthusiasm, referencing actress-host Anne Curtis’ iconic moment with Vice Ganda on It’s Showtime.
