Gillian Vicencio says she messaged Kathryn Bernardo after being linked to Daniel Padilla

Kapamilya actress Gillian Vicencio candidly opened up about the emotional toll she endured when her name got entangled in the breakup controversy between Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.

The Can’t Buy Me Love actress expressed her sentiments during the anniversary celebration of Beautederm Headquarters in Angeles, Pampanga, where she addressed the hurtful bashing she received in an interview with Pilipino Star Ngayon last Saturday.

“Syempre po nakaka-hurt ‘yung mga sinasabi ng mga tao. Kasi nababasa ko po ‘yung mga iba eh,” Gillian admitted.

She also mentioned that she took a “social media detox” to cope but was surprised to see more speculations circulating.

“Nakikita ko, tapos nag-detox po muna ako sa social media pero nagulat po ako na parang may mga ganong lumalabas,” shared Gillian.

The controversy arose when Gillian was accused of being a third party in the much-talked-about breakup.

When asked about her relationship with Daniel, with whom she worked with in the Kapamilya series “2 Good 2 Be True,” Gillian explained, “Sa taping po magkaka-close po kami kasi kami po ‘yung magkakaeksena eh.”

However, she stressed that there was “no communication” between her and Padilla beyond work-related matters.

Regarding her interaction with Kathryn, whom had reportedly included her in her unfollowing spree after the split, Gillian said, “Hindi po ako nag-sorry kasi wala naman po akong ginagawang bad pero in-explain ko po ‘yung side ko na wala pong ganun. Minessage ko po siya after nung unfollow.”

When asked about her sentiments after the controversy, she shared, “Parang mas natutunan ko na wala eh may mga ganun talagang pangyayari sa life mo as artista, na ang daming masasabi ng mga tao sa mga bawat galaw mo or something.

“Wala eh your life’s on parang nakalabas so ‘yun pala. Ganon pala siya,” she added.

Kathryn and Daniel caused a widespread frenzy among fans and netizens after confirming their breakup last December 2023. The ex-couple have been together for 11 years.
