A Vietnamese non-showbiz girl has spoken up to deny any romantic involvement with Daniel Padilla.
Minh Phuong or Emma took to her personal Instagram account on Monday to allegations linking her to the actor’s controversial breakup with ex-girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo.
In a lengthy post, Emma stressed that the only time she met Daniel was when he visited Vietnam last year with his friends and went to a bar owned by her brother.
“Prior to his visit in my country, I have never met him,” wrote Emma.
“I saw Daniel and his friends in the bar, exchanged a few words, and then I went back home with my sister. That is the end of my interaction with him,” she explained.
Emma shared that she has been receiving a lot of messages including death threats from fans and supporters of Daniel since the allegations came out on social media.
“I know you guys love and appreciate your idol. I also feel the same to the artists I support, but please be civilized and polite. Please be a cultured person. You guys have threatened my life and my job, sent messages and spammed my family and friends. This is something I would not wish to happen to anyone,” Emma wrote, addressing local fans of the actor.
She also hit back at netizens who are seemingly “accusing her with no proof and all speculations”, while also refusing claims that Daniel is following her on Instagram with a supposed dummy account.
“To be clear, I do not know who Johnnymoonlightz is, and I do not care who he is either”.
Emma also asked netizens attacking her on her social media page to have dignity and respect.
“I am a common Vietnamese citizen. I work, hang out with my friends, meet people, and live my life normally. I hope you maintain dignity and respect when coming to my social media, and please do not act without thinking.
Such third party accusations rose after Kathryn’s older sister shared a cryptic post with the message “I know what you did last summer”, alongside years in the caption which netizens speculated were the times the actress got cheated on by Daniel.
“2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023… and the very first one that I know (2014),” read the caption of the older Bernardo.
