Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano continued to fuel breakup speculations even after the actor penned a sweet birthday message for the latter.
On Thursday, Enrique took to Instagram to share a photo of him and Liza as he greeted the actress on her special day.
The actor’s message read: “Happy Birthday our dear hopie!!! I always have your back no matter what. Wish [I] was there to celebrate your special day.
“Thank you! Forever grateful for you,” he added.
Liza later reposted Enrique’s story with the reply: “Thank you. Forever grateful for you [heart emoji]”.
While LizQuen fans express delight over the two’s recent exchange on social media, some got intrigued over Enrique’s way of greeting the actress.

“Ay hindi na post? Story na lang,” a netizen commented under a report on gossip site Fashion Pulis.
“Break na break na. halatang halata sa message,” another responded.
One also mused, “Parang mag-barkada na lang ang peg nila. Waley ng love.”
On Twitter, a former fan noticed how Enrique seemed to get rid of his terms of endearment for Liza.
“As a former #LizQuen fan I’m used to Quen’s different terms of endearment for his girl. This one very supportive friend na lang ang datingan. From ‘my’ to ‘our’. And wait, nasan na yung “i love you” man lang.”

“I’ll always have your back”
That’s the consistency of #EnriqueGil. Never changed, never gave up. Kung iba pa ‘yan … kaya forever grateful for you talaga hahahaha #LizQuen pic.twitter.com/lNCc5QD1zf
While Enrique previously mentioned in an interview back in July last year that he and Liza are good and supportive of each other despite having busy schedules with their solo projects, PEP reported in December that Liza had a slip of the tongue in an “unreleased interview” that she and Enrique have already ended their eight-year relationship since October 2022.
