The parents of basketball player Ricci Rivero appeared to have voiced out their opinions about their son’s romantic involvements amidst his new relationship.
It seems that both Paolo and Abigail Rivero have taken to social media to comment on Ricci’s recently publicized relationship with beauty-queen-turned-politician Leren Bautista.
The baller hard launched his relationship with the Laguna councilor on his Instagram account which garnered mixed reactions from netizens. Despite the presence of negative reactions, Ricci’s parents made sure to shower the couple’s announcement with supportive comments.
“May God bless both of you. We love you and we will always be here praying for you guys. Take care of each other, love each other respect each other and always put God in the center of your relationship,” Paolo wrote.
Ricci’s mom left a lengthier message, beginning with a quote that seemed to relate to past rumors about Ricci’s split with actress Andrea Brillantes which was speculated to be caused by a third party.
“’Walang niloko at walang nanloko'[,] sadyang hindi lang sila ang gustong magkatuluyan ng tadhana,” Abigail began.
She went on to state why some relationships succeed and fail.
“God will end a relationship if it’s TOXIC. If you’re in a toxic environment, you do not need to ‘get used to it for a long time’ or ‘just get over it.’ God wants you to remove yourself from these situations. God will even help you set up an unthinkable escape… Just learn to LISTEN!,” she said.
“The truth is, if it’s meant to be, it will happen. When God wants you with someone, He will make it happen,” she added.
Earlier on Monday, October 23, Paolo posted a group photo of him together with his sons and their partners that emphasized the significance of being in a relationship with a respectful partner, underscoring a couple’s authentic love without the desire to flaunt or seek public attention.
Ricci’s dad wrote, “Yun naman ang hindi tutuo ? Plus, importante yung maayos na ugali at pag respeto sa minamahal mo at hindi lang pakitang tao para mapag usapan.”
“‘Yun naman ang sobrang layo at yan ang sigurado ako. ?? May God bless you always mga anak,” he added.
Both Ricci and Leren seemingly showed their agreement with the former’s father as seen in their similar comments under the post.
