Andrea Brillantes reacted to her ex-boyfriend Ricci Rivero’s claims about their breakup during his recent televised interview.
In an episode of GMA’s Fast Talk with Boy Abunda last June 26, the basketball player detailed the events that led to his split with Andrea, including the reason behind their ‘mutual decision’ to end their relationship.
Ricci shared that the two of them took a “little break from each other” last April as both of them needed a “breather” from their numerous problems that he considered “normal” in every relationship. He noted that they officially broke it off on the first week of May.
When asked about the cause of their breakup, Ricci said that it was due to speculations of a third party, specifically on accusations that Andrea caught him with another woman in his condo. Ricci added that Andrea took the video of him with the mysterious girl that had gone viral on social media.
These, however, did not sit right with Andrea as she broke her silence to share her side of the story with TV host DJ JhaiHo, who shared his conversation with the actress in an uploaded video on Marites University’s Youtube channel.
According to JhaiHo, he contacted Andrea to ask about her thoughts on Ricci’s remarks in his interview with Boy Abunda.
“I texted Blythe, tinanong ko what’s true. Tinanong ko kung anong nangyayari kasi I want to know kung tama ba ‘yung mga chika ni Ricci sa kanyang interview,” the DJ-host narrated in a TikTok video he uploaded over the weekend.
JhaiHo said that the ex-couple are both good friends of his and that after Ricci aired his side of the story in FTWBA, he also wanted to hear Andrea’s.
In their conversation, Andrea revealed that Ricci supposedly forgot to provide a complete overview of the entire story behind their breakup.
“Ano ang totoo? Naloloka na ako sa mga nakikita ko,” JhaiHo asked the actress.
“Lol. Nakalimutan niya atang sabihin na hubad kong nadatnan yung girl,” Andrea answered, referring to the unidentified woman in Ricci’s condo.
“Tulog siya. Di daw nila alam ang nangyari, lasing sila. Hindi niya minention. Madami pa siyang hindi minention,” she added.
When asked about the identity of the woman, Andrea refused to drop her name.
“Feeling ko hindi na para pag-usapan ni Blythe. Hindi naman na niya sa akin sinagot. I will give it to her. Baka hanggang doon lang ‘yung gusto niya i-announce,” JhaiHo said on the actress’ refusal to name the person.
During his interview with Boy, Ricci responded to rumors on social media, outright denying the woman whom Andrea caught at his condo in viral photos was not his, but a companion of his friend.
“‘Yung cause ng break up was ‘yung speculations, ‘yung kumakalat sa social media, ‘yung may nakita siyang girl doon sa place ko. Ilang beses naman po naming pinag-usapan ‘to, as in sobrang daming beses na sinabi ko sa kanya with all the evidences I have, kasi may mga conversations, even with my friends na hindi po sa’kin ‘yung girl,” defended Ricci.
“May papunta akong friend ng midnight tapos hindi ko naman alam na may kasama siya tapos ‘yun ‘yung naabutan niya that time,” the athlete shared his account of events.
“Alam ko po na alam niya, na naniniwala siya sa’kin kasi even after that, nag-uusap pa rin kami, nagkikita pa rin kami, maayos kami, ‘yung usual us, walang away, walang taasan ng boses, ‘yung maayos na pinag-uusapan namin ‘yung sa’min,” he stressed on the aftermath of being caught.
Ricci and Andrea’s breakup came a year after making their relationship official in April 2022 when he asked the actress to be his girlfriend in public, after winning his UAAP basketball match.
