It’s Showtime to go off air starting Oct. 14

It’s Showtime said it would abide by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board’s decision (MTRCB) to suspend the noontime show for 12 days.

In a statement released on Friday, ABS-CBN said it decided not to appeal to the Office of the President on the MTRCB’s ruling against the Kapamilya noontime show and instead serve the 12-day suspension starting October 14.

“We respect the authority of MTRCB, but we humbly maintain that the program did not break any pertinent law,” read ABS-CBN’s statement.

The Kapamilya network then expressed heartfelt gratitude to its avid viewers for their unwavering love and support for It’s Showtime.

ABS-CBN added the show will come back “stronger and ever” on October 28.

“Maraming Salamat, Madlang People!”.

ABS-CBN’s statement comes a week after MTRCB junked the Motion for Reconsideration filed by GMA Network and ABS-CBN in response to the 12-day suspension of It’s Showtime.

MTRCB issued a decision to suspend It’s Showtime early September after receiving multiple complaints concerning an episode wherein the program’s hosts allegedly “acted in an indecent manner” during one of its segments, Isip Bata.

Meanwhile, a Pep report said noontime program Lucky Day will temporarily fill in for Showtime while it serves its 12-day suspension.

Lucky Day will be hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Long Mejia, Negi, Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, and Francine Diaz.
