Claudine Barretto is mulling legal action against sexy star Sabrina M over her “false” claims that she was in a romantic relationship with the late Rico Yan.
Speaking in an interview with veteran columnist Cristy Fermin on Thursday, Claudine’s close friend Attorney Ferdie Topacio said they are giving a three-day ultimatum to Sabrina M to issue an apology for her declarations that she and the matinee idol dated in the past.
“Imposible po ‘yung sinasabi ni Sabrina M naging several years sila,” Topacio argued, saying Claudine and Rico were still trying to save their relationship even after they broke up and before the actor’s death in 2002.
“Pinalalabas niya na si Rico Yan ay two-timer at kung alam naman daw ni Claudine ‘yung parang napakababa naman ng moralidad ni Claudine na pumapayag siya na dalawa sila sa buhay ni Rico Yan?” Topacio said, referencing the former reel and real couple’s relationship timeline
He continued, “Imposibleng taon ang sinabi niya.Paano naging sila at taon, e after Claudine ilang buwan lang ay pumanaw na si Rico Yan?”.
Topacio then advised Sabrina M to apologize as a respect for the memory of the late actor, his family and Claudine.
Sabrina M is given until Sunday, July 16, to air her public apology. Should she fail to do so, Claudine’s camp would push through in taking legal action.
“Para gamitin mo yung pangalan lalo na ‘yung alaala ng isang pumanaw na para magkaroon ng noise para sa iyong movie, nakakarimarim po ‘yun, karumal-dumal na gawain ‘yun,” sai Topacio.
“Mag-sorry siya in public kasi kasiraan ang sinabi niya in public,” he added.
Meanwhile, Claudine earlier expressed to ‘90s sexy star Katrina Paula for speaking the “truth” amid Sabrina M’s claims.
“Divine intervention sina ni God at Rico. I really found a new friend/sister. Thank you so much in behalf ng #rycbforever. I’m happy that this is a start of a new friendship & sisterhood sobra sobrang SALAMAT for clearing the names of both RICO,” wrote Claudine in an Instagram post.
Katrina earlier debunked Sabrina M’s remarks in an interview with Cristy Fermin, saying: “Walang relasyon na naganap sa kanila. Baka nagkatikiman sila, pero ‘yung relasyon, hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling”.
Sabrina, who’s Karen Pallasigue in real life, revealed during a press conference for her upcoming film “Manang” that she and Rico dated for a year and chose to keep their relationship a secret to avoid intrigues.
The actress also said Claudine and the actor’s brother Bobby knew of their relationship.
“I think hindi naman magkakaroon ng problema kay Claudine kasi noong naging kami naman ni Rico, tapos na sila.
