DonBelle fans, did you hear that right?
One of ABS-CBN’s hottest love teams Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, popularly known as DonBelle, sent their fans into a frenzy with just one sentence: “Babe, try mo ‘yung lato-lato.”
TV writer Darla Sauler uploaded a new vlog on Sunday, July 9, where she was joined by Belle for a “bag raid” challenge.
“BAG RAID with lots of kulitan with Belle Mariano, with the special participation of Donny Pangilinan hehehe,” Darla wrote in the description.
Her vlog involved Darla challenging Belle to reveal what’s inside her celebrity bag.
“Kahit nasa taping kami ng ASAP, ang liit ng dala [niyang] bag,” Darla commented on the size of the actress’ bag.
Belle explained that her bag mainly contained her personal belongings and essential items, while her other stuff such as extra clothes was put in a much bigger bag.
“‘Pag maganda, hindi kailangan ng malaking bag,” Darla remarked to which Belle reacted in light disbelief.
The TV writer was delighted upon peeking through Belle’s bag showing her personal clutter which Darla described as something mundane.
As the first item in her bag was revealed, their attention was caught by someone behind the camera which turned out to be Donny.
“May tao na lalabas dyan,” Donny poked fun at Belle’s bag, seemingly in context with a viral soft drink commercial, before going back behind the scene.
Belle’s belongings were revealed one by one, including old receipts and even heavily-used hair ties which intrigued the TV writer especially after Donny seemed to be familiar with the sentimental value of it to his partner.
“Pero bakit alam ni Don na ayaw mo magtapon ng panali?,” Darla asked.
“No, kasi before I have a lucky panali na I don’t usually throw away, but I gave it to him na,” Belle explained on giving one of her lucky hair ties to Donny for safekeeping.
As Darla ended their segment, the camera panned to the other side of the room showing Donny sitting across from them. Darla asked the actor what he was doing as it seemed that he was interacting with a staff member who was playing with a lato-lato toy.
At exactly 16:37 timestamp of the video, Belle can then be heard saying “Babe, try mo ‘yung lato-lato,” as she urged Donny to try playing with the local toy.
The actor passed on the challenge to Darla who was not familiar with it, who then gave it to Belle who was also not graced with the skill of clacking it continuously.
DonBelle fans were quick to catch on to the reel couple’s apparent term of endearment, expressing their ‘kilig’ over their favorite couple on social media which made “BABE TRY MO ‘YUNG LATO-LATO” listed among the country’s top trending topics on Twitter.
“BABE BA?! TAMA BA PAGKAKARINIG KO?! “BABE TRY MO YUNG LATO LATO” ??♀️?♀️,” a fan tweeted.
““BABE! Try mo yung lato lato!” OMYGOD CONFIRMED!!!! HAHAHSHAHHS FEEL KO NABIGLA DIN SI BELINDA ??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH walang babasag!!!!!! MY DONBELLE HEART HUHU” another fan said.
“I’ll never look at lato lato the same way?❤️ BABE TRY MO YUNG LATO LATO,” tweeted another.
Meanwhile, their supporters went on to tease Belle about her ‘slip up’ the following day as shown in a Tiktok video where a fan shouted “Babe ‘yung lato-lato!” to the actress during her promotional event.
Donny and Belle were first paired in the hit rom-com series He’s Into Her and starred together in films Love Is Color Blind and An Inconvenient Love.
