Dennis Padilla receives Father’s Day ‘gift’ from kids Julia, Claudia, Leon

Dennis Padilla apparently did not get a “Happy Father’s Day” greeting from his kids with ex-wife Marjorie Barretto again this year but received something as a gift.

On his showbiz-oriented Youtube channel, Ogie Diaz revealed that the comedian-actor waited a whole day for Julia, Claudia, and Leon to greet him on the occasion but to no avail.

“According to Dennis, hindi siya binati ng kanyang mga anak nitong Father’s Day. Buong araw daw siya naghintay, pero nagpa-deliver naman ng food ang magkakapatid pero wala ni kapirasong greeting or note para batiin siya ng ‘Happy Father’s Day’,” Ogie was quoted as saying in his Youtube channel episode.

“‘Yung note o message daw ang kanyang inaasahan kesa sa anumang bagay,” he added.

Dennis also shared the same handwritten note he wrote for his kids last year on Father’s Day, saying it’s still the words he wanted his children to hear.

“I may not have been there for you but I always had you in my heart,” read Dennis’ message.

“In the end, I regret all the moments I let slip by. I regret all the times I hid my feelings from you,” he added.

Ogie added that Dennis longs for the time he will mend his relationship with his children and woud find it in their heart to forgive him for his shortcomings.

“Pare, matanda na ako. Sana mapagbigyan ako ng mga anak ko,” Ogie quoted Dennis as saying.

It can be recalled that Dennis had a word war with Julia and Leon last year after he aired his frustration against them for forgetting to greet him on Father’s Day.

Julia previously admitted in an interview that she’s open to reconciling with her dad, hoping they can make it work in “God’s time”.

“Hindi ko ipagkakait ang forgiveness but I’m just not ready. I think, there’s just been so much pain over the years since I was young, so parang I got tired of the same thing,” said the actress.

Dennis, on the other hand, would post throwback photos of his kids and pen them messages on Instagram, from time to time.
