‘Working Boys 2: Choose Your Papa’ now streaming on Viva One

“Work smart, not hard” is probably the most played out mantra for most workers who try to avoid the tedious side of their profession. And as long as it gets the job done, there’s no reason to stop them from doing so. These kind of workers are given the spotlight in a new comedy movie by Viva Films on popular streaming channel Viva One.

Starting today, June 7, 2023, you’re in for an exclusive and antic-filled viewing of Working Boys 2: Choose Your Papa.

Despite what the title suggests, Working Boys 2 is neither a sequel nor a remake. According to director Paolo O’Hara in an interview last March, it is instead a comedy that tells a modern story but still draws inspiration from its 1985 predecessor which stars Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon. And as opposed to using a trio as its lead stars, this particular rib-tickler headlines five actors, namely Wilbert Ross, Mikoy Morales, Andrew Muhlach, Vitto Marquez and Nikko Natividad. The film also features a star-studded supporting cast with Debbie Garcia, Angela Morena, Angelic Guzman, Lea Jane Lumabi, Divine Aucina and comedy icon Bayani Agbayani.

The story puts more focus on Biboy and McCoy played by Wilbert Ross and Mikoy Morales respectively. When the two main protagonists find themselves having trouble securing a steady paycheck, they instead decide to make an app wherein they provide services to odd jobs with three more of their able-bodied friends. But given their attractive physiques, clients can’t help but request tasks that cater to their raunchy needs. These working boys can only hope that their romantic partners won’t find out. Will this set-up bode well for them? Or will it instead make things worse?

Looking back on the roles they played before, lead stars Mikoy Morales and Wilbert Ross really earned their top billing for this film. Besides drama-themed shows like Sirkus and Lolong, Morales has been a mainstay in GMA’s long-running gag show Bubble Gang and also starred in the sitcom TV series Pepito Manaloto. And after getting recognition during his time as a member of male dance group Hashtags, Wilbert would later star in raunchy comedies such as Crush Kong Curly, High (School) on Sex and Boy Bastos.

Now’s your chance to apply for a fun misadventure. This June 7, it’s time to work smart with your zany co-workers in Working Boys 2: Choose Your Papa exclusively on Viva One.
