‘Highlight of my career’: Jodi Sta. Maria wins Best Actress at Asian Academy Creative Awards

Jodi Sta.Maria is over the moon following her big win at this year’s Asian Academy Creative Awards.

The actress was named Best Actress for her lead role in the Filipino adaptation of the BBC hit series Doctor Foster, Dreamscape’s The Broken Marriage Vow. 

Production company Dreamscape Entertainment shared a clip of the actress receiving the recognition at the international awards show held at the Chijmes Hall in Singapore.

“This was so unexpected. Thank you to the Asian Academy, ABS-CBN, Dreamscape, BBC for allowing us to do the Philippine adaptation of ‘Doctor Foster.’ Our directors, direk Connie Macatuno and Andoy Ranay, my co-actors, the production team.”

She continued, “I will always say that it takes a village to be able to produce a wonderful series,” adding that winning the award was “the highlight of my career.”

“Thank you, thank you. God I give you back all the glory and praise. Thank you!, Jodi emmtionally said in her acceptance speech.

Jodi also took to Instagram to express her gratitude to the “important people” behind her achievement including the series’ production team, her home network, family,  and fans.

“Everything happened so fast I panicked. I must have gotten lost in the moment coz I was overwhelmed. Thank you Asian Academy Creative Awards for the recognition,” said Jodi.

“Finally, PILIPINAS, PARA SA ATIN ITO!.”
