FAITH IN HUMANITY RESTORED: A man with autism donates boxes of crayons to two schools in Aklan

Despite his disability, this man made sure to donate 80 boxes of crayons to students of Calizo National High School in Aklan during the first day of face-to-face classes.

The teachers were shocked upon seeing the donations!

Apparently, Chris saved money for almost two and a half years to buy the school supplies.

“He used to come here to school or elsewhere, humihingi po ng tig-five pesos lang. Rowena Birol told The Philippine STAR.

Last August 22, Teacher Rowena said Chris dropped by the school unexpectedly with a sack of rice.

“Nilapag niya doon sa table then sabi niya sa akin,“Ma’am Weng, I have something for you,” sabi niya. “So what is that?” sabi ko. “I have crayons for your students,” so kinuha niya doon sa sako, then nilagay niya sa table, isa-isa. Sabi ko “Ay nako, Salamat Chris.” I was amazed na ganito sitwasyon niya, still may ano pa siya, nakapag-isip pa siya magbigay ng ganon karami po,” she recalled.

Chris has autism spectrum disorder. Teacher Rowena said that Chris loves to visit the school whenever he has time. Chris, who only finished grade 1, would sometimes visit the school library to self-study.

Mostly po ‘yung binabasa niya is Encyclopedia,” Teacher Rowena shared.

Chris also donated another 80 boxes of crayons at the Calizo Elementary School.

A box of crayons costs P50 and he was able to turn over a total of 160 boxes of crayons to two public schools in Aklan. Teacher Rowena also said that Chris also handed over periodic tables for the high school department.

The netizens along with the whole community, appreciated Chris’ small act of kindness.

Marami na akong number of likes sa Facebook,” 31-year-old Chris said.
