Blackpink’s Lisa tests positive for COVID-19

Lisa of South Korean girl group Blackpink has tested positive for COVID-19. 

In a statement published by Korean entertainment news outlet Soompi, Lisa’s management agency YG Entertainment announced that Lisa was diagnosed with COVID-19 today, November 24.

YG added that while other Blackpink members Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé have not yet been identified as close contacts, they already underwent jCOVID-19 PCR tests and are waiting for the results.

“We first shared this information quickly and accurately with representatives and staff, and we took strong preemptive measures even beyond the guidelines of health authorities,” read YG’s statement. 

“We will continue to not hold back on providing full support with the health of our artists and related staff members as the top priority. If there are any changes in the future, we will once again notify you quickly,” it added. 

Lisa, Blackpink’s main dancer and rapper, released her first-ever single album Lalisa last September.

Blinks, the fans of Blackpink, were quick to shower the K-pop girl group with messages of support online.

Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rose recently reunited following their individual schedules and projects abroad. The quartet each shared a groufie photo of them on Tuesday via Instagram stories.

The Korea Herald reported that South Korea hit its record high 4,116 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, November 24, since the start of the pandemic last year.

The report added that Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum is mulling stricter coronavirus restrictions if the cases continue to surge.
