Cancer-stricken customer’s ‘thank you’ note on receipt breaks netizens’ hearts

A cancer-stricken Jollibee customer touched the hearts of netizens after writing a tear-jerking message of “thank you” on a receipt, which was addressed to the fast food chain.

Mechelle Centurias, a manager of Jollibee Countrymall branch in Cebu City, said she “couldn’t hold my tears” when she read a note left by one of their customers who happens to be ill with the disease.

Mechelle shared that she initially thought that the note was from a dissatisfied customer but was surprised to see that it was “a different ‘thank you’ message from someone who had his last Jollibee meal before his Chemotherapy for stage 4 cancer.”

The customer expressed his gratitude to the fast food chain, sharing that the doctor told him that he only has a few months to live.

The handwritten note at the back of the customer’s receipt read:

“My Jollibee. Thank you sa 32 years. Karon akong last kaon nimo kay starting ugma, mag sugod na akong chemotherapy. Na koy stage 4 cancer. My doctor said that I have 3 months na lang. Once again, thank you my Jollibee. Until my next life. Aylabyu my Jollibee.”

Mechelle said she went to look for the customer to somehow speak to him and give him thanks and encouragement but was told that he already left.

She, nevertheless, took to Facebook to encourage and wish the customer’s recovery.

“To this ‘brave someone’ who just prepared himself for a big fight, we pray for your recovery. The 3 months your doctor gave you can be 3 years or 3 decades or longer. God gives miracles. We just have to believe and strengthen our faith.

“I hope we’ve served you better and made you happy when you’re at Jollibee. Welabyu,” she added.

The said Facebook post has garnered over 6,000 reactions and more than 2,000 shares as of writing.
