Squid Game star Jung Ho Yeon has ended her nine-year relationship with Reply 1988 actor Lee Dong Hwi.
According to South Korean media outlet YTN’s report on Tuesday, the two have gone from being lovers to colleagues and following their breakup.
A report from another outlet quoted an official from Ho Yeon’s agency, People Entertainment, saying, “It is true that actor Jung Ho Yeon has broken up with actor Lee Dong Hwi. [They] decided to remain good colleagues.”
Ho Yeon and Dong Hwi began dating in 2015 and went public with their romance in 2016. The two had been open and proudly talked about their relationship in past variety shows and interviews.
Ho-yeon got her big break when she made her acting debut as Sae-byeok, also known as Player 067, in the hit Netflix series Squid Game. She also stars in the Hollywood series “Disclaimer.”
Dong Hwi, meanwhile, starred in “Reply 1998,” “Chief Detective 1958,” and “Someone You Loved.”
