Alice Dixson gets first COVID-19 vaccine jab, plans on having 2nd dose in PHL

Alice Dixson has just received her first jab of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in Canada.

On social media, the veteran actress asked her followers for the availability of the same vaccine brand in the Philippines since she plans on getting her second dose in the country instead.

“My 2nd shot is 3-4 weeks pero balak ko sana sa Pilipinas na lang pag uwi namin. Does anyone know if may Pfizer sa atin? So far is AstraZenica (AstraZeneca) & Sinovac,” the star of GMA 7’s upcoming show Legal Wives wrote.

She added: “May alam ba kayo na Pfizer? Pls let me know kasi yun ang kailangan ko sa 2nd vaccination dose ko. Thank you. Btw I heard in Manila you can get your vaccines na kahit lockdown — true? If yes, gogogo!”

Most netizens on her Instagram page recommended her to take her second dose of the vaccine in Canada where she currently is.

“I think it would be better for you to get your 2nd dose there. In that way, you will be safer once you travel,” a netizen suggested.

In the Philippines, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez JR. said more than four million doses of COVID-19 shots are expected to be delivered in May. If the vaccines arrive on schedule, inoculation of frontline personnel in essential sectors and the indigent population can start next month.

Currently, COVID-19 vaccines are being administered to health care personnel, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities or health risks.

Early April, Alice, 51, announced that the “newest little family member has arrived” after 10 years of waiting and praying.

“For those of you who really know me — you’ve known that I’ve been praying for this every year on my birthday for 10 years now,” she wrote in an Instagram post of her holding up a piece of paper showing a newborn baby’s footprints.
