Heart Evangelista believes she lost her dog to find a ‘hero’

Heart Evangelista had an early Christmas gift for a homeless man and his dogs.

The 34-year-old actress was reunited with the homeless man she saw taking care of stray dogs along Gilmore Street in Quezon City two weeks ago when she went looking for her missing dog Casper.

On Sunday, Heart along with dog rescue team PAWSsion project officially welcomed Kuya Jun and his dogs to their new home.

Kuya Jun became overwhelmed with emotion after seeing he no longer had to live on the streets. The touching reaction brought Heart and the PAWSsion volunteers to tears.

“Today was totally a happy, emotional, heartwarming and life-changing day as we officially welcomed Kuya Jun and his dogs to the shelter,” said PAWSsion Project in an Instagram post.

PAWSsion noted that Kuya Jun had been praying everyday for a home where he and his dogs could stay.

His prayers were finally answered.

“HOMELESS NO MORE! ❤️? He had the simplest wishes, just a place where he can be with his dogs, and clothes he can use to go to church,” PAWSsion Project said.

PAWSsion also thanked Heart, the volunteers and everyone who helped out to provide for Kuya Jun’s needs.

Meanwhile, the Kapuso fashionista also posted photos of Kuya Jun enjoying his new home and new life together with his beloved pets.

“I want the world to know about you and your big heart. ❤ Kuya Jun, kung ano man ang pinagdaanan mo at kung ano man ang nakaraan mo, it doesn’t matter. It’s time to forget that because you now have a new life. You are now safe in your new home where you are loved with your fur babies. You are a hero. ❤”

“I guess the reason why Casper went missing that day was because there was a greater purpose — it was so that I could keep looking in the streets, so that I could find you,“ Heart said.
