James Reid joins Jay Park, Jeremy Lin, other Asian artists in virtual event for a cause

James Reid will be performing with international artists in a virtual music festival that seeks to unite Asian artists and leaders from around the world for the fight against COVID-19 and xenophobia affecting Asian communities. 

The 27-year-old singer announced his participation in Identity: Project Blue Marble on May 19. 

His post read: “Join the live stream May 30 as we gather online to raise awareness and funds for health workers. For more info go to www.identitylive.org #ouridentity @identitylafest @amazonmusic.”

The music festival will be streaming from around the world for eight hours on May 30, Saturday. 

Proceeds will go to United Way, a nonprofit organization raising funds for coronavirus disease relief efforts all over the world.

The artists joining the festival include Korean-American rapper Jay Park, Thai singer-songwriter Phum Viphurit, former NBA player Jeremy Lin and Instagram poet Rupi Kaur.
