Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, international artists continue to put a smile on their fans’ faces through online concerts.
Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin kicked off #TogetherAtHome with a mini gig on his Instagram live. In his 30-minute set, he sang acoustic renditions of Trouble, A Sky Full of Stars and a David Bowie cover.
His livestream was uploaded on the band’s social media account right after his set.
“I was supposed to be with the band Coldplay today, from which I come but we’re stuck in different countries. We can’t play together. So, I thought, it would be nice for me check in with some of you out there to see how you’re doing, where you are and what I could do for you,” he started.
The All of Me singer John Legend followed suit with an almost hour-long set. He was accompanied by his wife Chrissy Teigen.
“Social distancing is important, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. I did a little at-home performance to help lift your spirits,” he said.
Australian singer-songwriter Keith Urban joined in on the trend with an online concert from their warehouse. His “live audience” was his wife, Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.
Award-winning singer Pink also gave a free concert with her cover of Adele’s Make You Feel My Love.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), as of March 17, there are over 180,000 confirmed cases all over the world.
