NCT’s Johnny to go on hiatus due to injury

K-pop boy group NCT’s Korean-American singer Johnny Suh will take a break from activities after suffering a fracture on his collarbone.

According to K-entertainment media outlet Soompi, Johnny’s label SM Entertainment informed fans in a press release on Monday, June 12, that the singer injured his collarbone last night after hitting a studio door with his right shoulder while filming for a content. He was immediately taken to a hospital for a thorough examination.

“According to the results, his right clavicle is fractured, and he received medical advice that he should wear a brace to secure the relevant area and to minimize movement until recovery,” SM Entertainment told The Pop Herald, as quoted by Soompi.

“Johnny will temporarily halt all his scheduled activities and focus on treatment and recovery, and we will inform you of Johnny’s return to his scheduled activities at a later date,” the company added.

“We sincerely apologise for causing concern to fans with sudden news. The agency will put the artist’s treatment as priority and help Johnny focus on his recovery,” SM said at the end of its statement.

Johnny was initially scheduled to do a DJ set this weekend for KVIBES Summer Fantasy at Savaya Bali Beach Club in Indonesia under the name DJ Johnny Be. It was not discussed whether it will still happen.

SM has recently announced NCT’s first-ever solo concert, NCT NATION: To The World, which will be running from August to September in Korea and Japan.
