Taylor Swift endorses Joe Biden for US president

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift went public with her presidential bet for the United States in the upcoming November election.

On October 8, she announced on social media that she will be voting for presidential candidate Joe Biden. The pop star also expressed her support for vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

In a social media post, the 30-year-old was photographed with a plate of “Biden 2020” cookies in hand.

In an interview with American fashion magazine, V Magazine, Swift said under Biden and Harris’ leadership, America will begin its healing process “it so desperately needs.”

“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes the people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included.

Everyone deserves a government that takes global health risks seriously and puts the lives of its people first. The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them,” she said.
