Just in time for his 66th birthday, National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab gifted his fellow Filipinos with a new song amid the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Kapit Lahat is a reminder that our trials during this time can be conquered.
His group, The Ryan Cayabyab Singers, gave life to his original composition posted on YouTube last May 3.
“Kapit Lahat is a song that wishes to remind us that despite our current situation, we can get through this challenge together,” the Ryan Cayabyab Singers wrote.
His new work was showcased in a special edition of his online concert series Bayanihan, Musikahan which aired on ABS-CBN on May 3.
Bayanihan, Musikahan is a donation drive that raises funds for the “most vulnerable sector of our society,” those whose livelihoods have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. (READ: Bayanihan, Musikahan’: Ryan Cayabyab launches online concert concerts for those affected by COVID-19.)
As of writing, the initiative has already raised over P66 million since it was put in motion last March 18.
