Robi Domingo signs off as Myx VJ

Robi Domingo has signed off from his job as video jockey for ABS-CBN’s music channel, Myx.

On his social media accounts, the host thanked thanked Myx for giving him a platform to speak what’s on his mind.

“Thank you. This has been VJ Robi. Always and forever, Myx. Your Choice. Your Music,” he said quoting the channel’s famous slogan.

He clarified that the channel will still be operating.

Meanwhile, on his Instagram, he looked back on how he won Myx’s VJ search back in 2008. Robi shared how the “million dreams and moments” he gained was more valuable than the prize he won.

“Found this big cheque the other day near my closet. Whenever I see this, I remember that night in Trinoma for the Myx VJ search in 2008, and also the value of it,” he said.

Late Sunday, along with Myx’s current VJs, Robi announced that they are bidding their farewell to the majority of their staff.

“It is with a heavy heart that the Myx family bids farewell to majority of our staff and DJs who were among the thousands of retrenched ABS-CBN workers,” he started.

As he fought back his tears, he asked the audience of their channel to continue supporting them as they do their best to make their family complete again.

“Myx will continue to give you your choice, your music on cable, online and social media. Our small but dedicated team is more committed than ever to remain a very vital part of the Filipino youth’s music experience and to champion Filipino artists as we have done for almost 20 years,” he said.

In July, after their home network ABS-CBN’s franchise was denied by Congress, the media giant announced their retrenchment program covering the company and its subsidiaries will take effect on August 31.
