Assunta de Rossi opens up on hardships of pregnancy while in quarantine

After 16 years of marriage with husband Jules Ledesma, Assunta de Rossi’s prayer of becoming a mother was finally heard.

On May 5, the actress shared the good news that she was 14 weeks pregnant with their first baby. On Instagram, she said giving birth naturally was a miracle considering her health complications.

“I know, shocking! Getting pregnant the natural way with myoma and endometriosis (which I both have) is extremely difficult,” she said.

In a report from Pilipino Star Ngayon, she shared her struggles with being pregnant.

“I’m stuck in bed all day, feeling horrible, nausea and dizziness are my enemies these days. I can’t even gain weight kasi hirap akong kumain. Pinipilit ko naman and I take vitamins. I do miss being active but my body feels overworked. I feel tired all day. Minsan late na ako nakakaligo kasi tulog nga ako maghapon,” she shared.

The mommy-to-be opened up on how she could not visit the hospital for check ups, especially with the dangers of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“I could hear a soft heartbeat already. Na-lockdown so until now wala pa akong bagong scan,” she said.

Assunta shared that she did not have enough time to prepare since the pandemic and her pregnancy are both unexpected. She added that her last doctor’s appointment was two or three days before Metro Manila was put on lockdown.

“All I could do was to take advantage of the situation and get plenty of rest. Wala din naman kasing magagawa and also naglalabasan na symptoms ko kaya that was all I could do, just eat and sleep,” she said.

Thankfully, she said, nothing out of the ordinary is happening while she is expecting to meet her baby soon.
