Kathryn Bernardo shares how proud she is of her frontliner sister in the UK

Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo shared how the current situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has changed her view on life.

The actress said the current state of the world has made her realize how precious life is.

“Ngayon, extra thankful ka kasi healthy ka, okay ka and kailangan talaga gawin mo lahat to protect yourself para ma-protektahan mo yung ibang tao,” she said in an interview with the momshies of Magandang Buhay.

The 24-year-old box office queen also mentioned that she has learned to appreciate the little things in life, especially now that the virus has changed the world.

She added that her respect for the country’s healthcare workers has doubled after hearing about her U.K-based sister Kaye Bernardo’s situation as a frontliner.

“Yung sister ko mismo, siya nag-ta-trabaho siya sa UK and nag kwento siya kung paano sila dun, kung ano yung sitwasyon nila and hindi siya joke. So mas naging proud ako lalo sa ate ko during this situation,” she said.

Last April 7, British TV personality Piers Morgan paid tribute to Filipino healthcare workers who are working at the frontlines of the UK’s battle against the pandemic.

“Thank you to all the Filipinos who are here and to every other immigrant who works in the NHS (National Health Service) currently and I hope at the end of this we have perhaps a different feeling about what immigration has done for this country,” he said.
