“Tiktok is life pa rin kahit nasaktan ka na.”
This frontliner who was struck by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) while performing his duty is proving that he’s stronger than the virus with some help from Tiktok.
Nico Centillas Torreon, a nurse assistant from St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City, is using the popular video-sharing app to serve as an inspiration and bring good vibes to fellow frontliners and patients battling the illness.
“Naisip ko (mag-TikTok) para maka-inspire sa iba na huwag mawalan ng pag-asa, laban lang,” he told STAR.
To overcome his fears, Torreon continues to make videos on TikTok even if he’s undergoing quarantine.
“Takot na takot ako, kasi ayaw ko pa mamatay. Ginawa ko na lang po nilakasan ko po ‘yung loob ko para sa family ko,” he added.
Despite showing symptoms, Torreon said his family is pleased with his positivity and with the way he’s dealing with the pain of being a COVID-19 patient.
“Natuwa sila kasi kahit alam nila (na) masakit ulo ko, masakit likod ko, nahihilo nagawa ko pa din mag-TikTok para sa kanila at para sa iba na ma-inspire ko sila na lumaban lang,” Torreon said.
In his videos, Torreon can be seen dancing lively inside a hospital room while connected to an intravenous drip.
Netizens sent Torreon well-wishes and prayers for his fast recovery.
Torreon tested positive for COVID-19 last March 27. As of Thursday, he said he is in good condition but on medication for pain relief as stated on STAR’s Facebook post.
