Bea Benedicto gets real about getting ‘depressed, anxious and balding’

TV host and fitness celebrity Bea Benedicto started her 2021 “getting real.” She shared why she stopped posting as much on social media the past year.

In her post, the social media influencer shared a video of the bald spot on her head. “This 2021, I want to be more real,” she said.

Bea shared that she suffered from alopecia that she was not able to get treated immediately because of the lockdown.

“I was depressed, I was anxious, and I was balding. I’d be sad then more hair would fall off, then I’d get more sad. It was a bad cycle.

“June ‘till December 2020 really wasn’t a good time mentally, and I just want to say — especially for those who are going through something similar — that things will be ok,” she said.

She went on to assure her friends and followers that her hormones are now “getting along a lot better” and that her hair is finally growing back.

In an Instagram live, she further explained that along with her polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), her stress hormone was “overused.”

“It got stuck na negative siya and even if I’m not stressed, I feel like I’m stressed and that coupled with a lot of other things,” she said.

Early December, Bea talked about her PCOS and her progress with fighting acne.
