Bernadette Sembrano shares how miscarriage helped her say yes to opportunities

Bernadette Sembrano turned emotional as she opened up about her miscarriage back in 2019.

“Malalim pala yung bubog ‘pag napapag-usapan ang ganyan,” the broadcast journalist admitted in a video uploaded on her Facebook page.

In the same video, she revealed that her baby girl with her husband Emilio “Orange” Aguinaldo IV was successfully implanted on December 8, 2018. They already had a name for her — Mary Olivia or Molly. But just before Bernadette’s birthday, she had lost what would have been their first child together in their more 10 years of marriage.

The TV Patrol anchor said that despite losing their child, she still tried to live the way she wanted her baby Molly to live hers — saying yes to opportunities.

“When we lost Molly, that’s when I learned to honor Molly’s life by living a full life and saying yes to a lot of things,” she said.

Bernadette decided to reveal this matter since she was about to perform in ABS-CBN’s musical variety show ASAP Natin ‘To.

The journalist had recently ventured into songwriting and is credited as lyricist of the theme song of the new Kapamilya series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin.

For this milestone of hers, she said she would be bringing her daughter Molly with her as well as her late father who played a crucial part in her love for music. She had promised her father that he would always be remembered every time she sang.

The news reporter’s video was her way of celebrating “bubog” or heartaches people have encountered in their lives.

She ended her four-minute-long video encouraging her supporters to “embrace our bubog and let us shine.”
