McCoy de Leon resumes studies amid COVID-19 pandemic

Kapamilya artist McCoy de Leon took to social media to share that he is back to school amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

On his Instagram account, the actor said that despite feeling unfamiliar with studying once again, he believes that there is nothing impossible when you want something.

“Mahirap dahil nakakapanibago ulit bumalik sa pag-aaral pero walang imposible pag gusto,” he said.

“Yan na nga, worth it ang hirap, sobrang saya ko lang. Hay thank you Lord,” McCoy added.

In his post, he shared a photo of his final grade. He is currently studying at Mapua University.

Before delving into showbiz, the Hashtags member was a Civil Engineering junior at the same university. He was unable to finish his studies after more opportunities opened up for him in showbiz.

In an interview with the STAR, the 25-year-old said he didn’t really dream of pursuing an acting career despite wanting to act.

“I told my mom that I just wanted to earn money and save, and I promised that I would go back to school,” McCoy shared.

He later on revealed that as his rehearsals for It’s Showtime’s all-male dance group became hectic, he decided to quit school.

“After the Hashtag rehearsal, I tried to attend classes until I became pressed for time at hindi na nakaya ng katawan ko. So I quit school. But I will keep my promise to my mom,” McCoy said.
