WATCH: Netizens touched by group of nurses serenading COVID-19 frontliners

Many netizens were touched by this tear-jerking video of a group of nurses at The Medical City (TMC) serenading their fellow health workers at the frontlines of the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Uploader and TMC head nurse Alexis Mago told Philippine STAR that their chorale group of nurses called “Nightingales” and some nurses who were off-duty thought of ways “to boost the morale of the frontliners, especially fellow nurses assigned to care for COVID patients.

In the live videos uploaded on Friday, the group can be seen singing Fight Song by Rachel Platten and Pagsubok by Orient Pearl while they are inches away from the doctors and fellow nurses — both getting all emotional during the serenade.

The group also held bond papers with printed words of encouragement for the modern-day heroes.

The videos garnered thousands of views and reactions, with an outpouring of comments from netizens who sent out their words of gratitude and salute to the medical frontliners.

“Keep fighting the battle. This is what we are called to do. Para sa Diyos at bayan. LABAN. #INGATSALAMAT,” said Mago to fellow healthcare workers.

President Duterte earlier commended the courageous COVID-19 frontliners for putting their lives on the line to ensure the health and safety of Filipinos.

He also paid tribute to the country’s fallen doctors who lost their lives while fulfilling their duties.
