T.G.I.S. stars reunite to celebrate show’s 25th anniversary

The cast of the ’90s drama series, T.G.I.S. (Thank God It’s Sabado), held a virtual reunion to celebrate their show’s 25th anniversary.

The GMA 7 hit youth-oriented show was directed by Mark Reyes. It was then topbilled by Angelu de Leon, Ciara Sotto, Rica Peralajo, Michael Flores, Bobby Andrews, Onemig Bondoc and Michael Flores. Some of them are still active in showbiz, while others have shunned the limelight.

Its director, Mark Reyes, took to Instagram to share a screenshot of their video conference since it is their first time to celebrate their anniversary apart.

“It’s the first time we are not together physically to celebrate our yearly anniversary. And because some are in different time zones, it was hard to pull this off,” he said.

In another post, he shared a compilation video of the cast’s moments together.

“25 years ago, we had a little show that became a phenomenon. 25 years ago, we became friends. 25 years later, we are still a family,” he wrote.

Angelu de Leon also shared moments from their silver anniversary Zoom party.

“Sa mga nagmahal, nagmamahal at bago lang kaming minamahal maraming salamat at ginawa niyo kaming parte ng buhay niyo,” she said.

While Michael John Flores thanked broadcast network GMA for bringing the gang together way back in 1995.

Ciara Sotto also greeted her co-stars a happy 25th on her Instagram.

“Here’s to the old times and the best of new ones,” she said.
