Indicated in the application form are the qualifications and documents required for applying. The applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 26 years old to enter the pageant.

Successful applicants will vie for the Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational, and Bb. Pilipinas Tourism titles.

Last December 9, 2019, pageant fans were surprised to hear that the Miss Universe Organization was cutting their ties with BPCI. The US-based organization announced that a new team, headed by Miss Universe 2011 third-runner-up Shamcey Supsup, will be handling the local Miss Universe franchise (READ: Miss Universe leaves Bb. Pilipinas Charities after 55 years).

“The Miss Universe Organization is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Miss Universe Philippines Organization – a fresh team that will lead the country towards its continued quest to share the beauty and grace of the Filipina to the rest of the world,” they said.

Their announcement came after the 2019 Miss Universe in Atlanta, Georgia where Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi was crowned.
