This one’s certainly not “charot”.
Comedienne-actress Ethyl Gabison a.k.a. Ethel Booba is expecting her first child.
The Tawag ng Tanghalan celebrity grand champion shared the good news in the noontime variety show It’s Showtime last Friday.
The spontaneous revelation came out when It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda joked about Ethel having a single to be released under TNT Records.
“Kaya lang may nakalagay sa kontrata, magkakaroon ka ng single pero kailangan single ka din,” Vice said.
Ethel suddenly blurted out: “Ay ano ba ‘yan hindi pwede, magiging triple na nga eh.”
Vice Ganda along with other It’s Showtime hosts appeared to be shocked and confused at the same time with the announcement, knowing Ethel as a jokester.
“Nakakaloka! Ano ba ‘yan, naiiyak tuloy ako. I’m happy for the gift of life that I’m having right now…” Ethel continued.
Vice then pressed the comedienne to tell the truth.
Ethel became teary-eyed while joking and sharing, “Kaya nahihirapan akong kumanta, parang lalabas ang bahay-bata ko.”
The It’s Showtime hosts finally realized that she is pregnant for real and not “charot,” to use her favorite expression on Twitter whenever she’s just kidding.
Vice and company congratulated Ethel for another “good news” announced on the noontime show.
Ethel went on to reveal: “Double celebration… double congratulations to me. Ito na nga, oo six months.”
“She’s six months pregnant! Congratulations! We’re so happy for you!” Vice concluded.
The comedienne recently shared in a Tonight With Boy Abunda interview that she and non-showbiz boyfriend Jessie Salazar are “going strong”.
Ethel also happily declared that he is “the one”.
