Amid the 2019 novel coronavirus (nCoV) scare, this video of GMA news anchor Mike Enriquez coughing while reporting about the coronavirus brought laughter to netizens.

The viral 24-second clip uploaded by Jhayvee Lhatina on Facebook has reached over four million views, 200,000 “Haha” reactions, 20,000 comments and 180,000 shares to date.

In an episode of the news program 24 Oras aired on January 21, the veteran TV broadcaster was reporting about the Bureau of Quarantine’s heightened alert in airports and seaports, in light of nCoV threats in the country when he coincidentally coughed.

Netizens found it hilarious after he immediately said that it was not related to the virus.

“Excuse me po, hindi po ‘yun coronavirus,” explained Enriquez.

Enriquez is known for delivering what has become his signature line “Excuse me po” when clearing his throat on air.

According to the World Health Organization, cough, fever, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties are among the symptoms of the coronavirus.

As of writing, there are two confirmed cases of the 2019 nCoV in the country.

The Department of Health and the national government have earlier advised the public to observe and follow safety measures to reduce the risk of the coronavirus infection.
