IN PHOTOS: Piolo, Maja, Catriona lead Sunday Noontime Live’s premiere on TV5

Sunday Noontime Live (SNL) debuted on TV5 today (October 18), officially making the Sunday noontime slot a three-way battle with GMA’s All-Out Sundays and ABS-CBN’s ASAP Natin ‘To.

The roster of artists for SNL was led by Piolo Pascual, Maja Salvador, Catriona Gray, Jake Ejercito and Donny Pangilinan.

The new musical-variety show is directed by former ABS-CBN Star Magic boss Johnny Manahan and produced by blocktimer Brightlight Productions owned by former Negros Occidental congressman Albee Benitez.

SNL is one of initial five shows that Brightlight is producing for the Kapatid network.

Most of the stars and production people enlisted for Brightlight shows are from the Kapamilya network because Benitez said in a STAR interview, one of his objectives was to give jobs to displaced ABS-CBN workers following the network’s shutdown.

“In fact, what I am thinking is not to tie down stars to exclusive contracts. Dapat walang nang ganoon. It deprives contract stars the chance to work for other channels if their mother network is not giving them projects. Lugi ang artista at ang industry ay hindi lumalago, hindi lumalaki, di ba?” he was quoted in the same interview.

Meanwhile, here are some behind-the-scenes from the SNL premiere as shared by Cornerstone Entertainment, Inc., one of line production companies backing Brightlight shows.
