Teacher goes viral after sharing heartbreaking message from student

This teacher from Santiago City, Isabela drew praise from netizens after what he did for a student who submitted an “incomplete” homework.

Velcher Castillo in a Facebook post on Friday shared a photo of a student’s learning module with an answer that caught his attention.

According to Castillo, he was surprised to see a note on the activity paper from the student that read: “Sir, wala po akong pambili ng krayola. Sorry po.”

The student had to label the drawing with the names of the colors instead.

Touched that the student still found a way to accomplish the assignment despite the lack of materials, Castillo decided to give the learner a new set of crayons.

“Don’t be sorry, nak. I understand you. Here’s a box of crayons for you. Keep up the good work! See you when this pandemic finally ends. God bless and stay safe,” wrote Castillo.

Castillo also penned a message to students who are struggling to cope with the blended learning situation brought about by the pandemic.

“Para sa bawat estudyante, isang mahigpit na yakap. Kapit lang. Laban lang. Tuloy lang. Magkikita kita muli tayo. Know that your efforts are valid and appreciated. Kahit na at kahit pa. ❤,” he said.

The Facebook post has already collected over 100,000 reactions and 40,000 shares, with netizens mostly lauding the teacher’s show of consideration for the student.
