Janine Berdin wows netizens with new look

Kapamilya singer Janine Berdin stunned netizens after photos of her “glow up” made rounds online.

On Tuesday, ML Salon and Spa posted photos of the Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 2 Champion sporting a purple ash hair color.

The post has since gone viral with over 21,000 reactions and 35,000 shares as of writing.

In an interview with ABS-CBN TV writer Darla Sauler, Janine shared she initially wanted to have short hair but the “people around me” told her not to.

“Pero gusto ko ng drastic change, kaya sinuggest nila itong kulay. So ayan, happy ako, thank you,” shared Janine.

Janine Berdin said she was overwhelmed upon knowing that she became a top trending topic, with netizens showing love for her new look.

“I’m very flattered kasi ang gaganda ng compliments. Thank you guys. I really appreciate it.”

The 18-year-old singer said the reason for her incredible transformation is not being afraid of change.

“Parang naging blooming po ako kasi hindi po ako natakot of change. I think that’s what everyone should keep in mind na you shouldn’t be afraid of change.

“If there’s something you don’t like about yourself and if you’re not happy about it, then you can do something to make yourself happy.”

Recalling how she was self-conscious before, Janine said she has now become much more happier about herself after going in for the change.

“Kasi kung hindi ka masaya sa sarili mo magre-reflect kasi nakikita ko din po sa mga posts ko dati, mga videos ko, parang nakikita ko din kung gaano ako ka-self-conscious.

“And now when I look all my photos and the videos, I think, ang saya ko, parang nakikita ko na ang saya ko na. Ang saya ko na sa sarili ko,” she related.

She added: “Let’s not be afraid of change, and let’s not condemn change. Kung may gusto mag-change, ipa-change mo sila. Bahala sila basta masaya sila.”
