The online community is mourning the loss of Filipino YouTube vlogger Emman Nimedez who passed away early Sunday morning after his battle with cancer.
“Our beloved Emman Nimedez joined our Creator at 1:00 am today, August 16, 2020, Sunday,” Emman’s girlfriend Peachy Santos wrote in a Facebook post.
“He was with his family during the time of his passing at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Quezon City,” the post added.
Peachy’s update came a day after sharing that Emman got rushed to the hospital Thursday night due to kidney failure and blood complications, adding that he was “unstable” and in “critical condition”.
The late online content creator first revealed that he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow in a YouTube vlog May, calling it the hardest fight he’ll ever have to face.
Emman rose to fame in 2017 with his parody of K-drama shows, subsequently ventured into music and has since acquired over 2 million subscribers on YouTube to date.
He also dabbled in showbiz, guesting in the ABS-CBN youth-oriented sitcom Luv U.
Meanwhile, netizens expressed their grief over Emman’s passing with him being the top trending topic on Twitter.
