Kim Chiu is mourning the death of her 85-year-old grandmother who died in her sleep in Cebu.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the Kapamilya actress shared a tribute to her grandmother she endearingly calls Ama.
“She slept peacefully, and little did she know she would wake up in heaven,” began Kim in the caption along with photos and clips of her grandmother.
“Rest well in heaven, ama! You don’t have to wait anymore sa sunrise ug sunset. I guess in heaven sun is always shining ☀️,” she added.
Included in the memorial tribute video were family photos while a Chinese song played in the background.
“Played Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin ‘coz I know that is one of your favorite songs and you always smile whenever I perform a chinese song.❤️ I will miss you ama. Visiting Cebu will never be the same again. ???,” she wrote.
Kim, who grew up under the care of her paternal grandmother, said that it was a hard goodbye as they couldn’t fly to Cebu due to the imposed lockdown.
“Felt hard to say goodbye. Felt even harder that this happened in this kind of situation. ? We were not able to fly there to whisper our last goodbye,” she said.
