After Hyun Bin, is Smart Communications also getting his Crash Landing On You leading lady Son Ye Jin as endorser? Fans certainly think so.
On Sunday, the telecommunications company released on Twitter a teaser video of the commercial that introduces their newest product endorser.
The commercial shows someone riding a motorbike before cutting to a scene featuring a long-haired woman back-facing the camera. “Sino ang Smart?” the TVC teased.
The caption is equally telling: “Rivealing Soon: It’s meant to be. #SmartSignature.”
Son Ye Jin “crash-landed” into Filipino hearts via her character in the hit K-drama Crash Landing You, playing the heiress Se Ri who finds cross-border romance with Hyun Bin’s Captain Ri.
Fans were quick to guess that the new Smart endorser was Se Ri (get it?) in the comments.
The scenes also looked similar a video clip the Korean star posted on her Instagram a few weeks ago.
The actress can be seen boarding a motorbike. She wrote in the caption: “Vroom but how do we leave?”
In Instagram post’s comments thread, fans from the Philippines were reacting to her post thanking her for accepting the project.
They were also taking note that Jane Basas, Smart SVP and head of consumer wireless business who was also responsible for sealing the deal with Hyun Bin, has also reacted to her picture.
The new endorser is said to be revealed this Monday, but in a previous STAR interview, Alfredo Panlilio, Smart president-CEO/PLDT chief revenue officer, was asked if there were plans to get another K-drama star as endorser after Hyun Bin.
He simply said, “Well, Captain Ri is lonely if he’s alone right?”
