Daughter wears trash bag as PPE to greet and hug frontliner dad on his birthday

This heartbreaking photo of a daughter greeting her frontliner father on his birthday has left netizens teary-eyed.

A six-year-old girl from Bacolod City had to wear garbage bag and water bottle as her improvised personal protective equipment (PPE) suit so she could greet and give her frontliner father a hug on his birthday.

Uploader Joly Marie Masa said she never thought that there would come a day that she would witness before her very eyes this heart-wrenching moment between her daughter and husband.

Masa shared that her daughter Ali endured the heat wearing the improvised PPE just to greet his policeman father a happy birthday and give him the letter she wrote the night before.

“I can’t contain my emotions as a parent seeing this. Na-realize ko po na every moment is precious talaga kahit maikli lang magsama. Nakakalungkot isipin na itong virus na ito ang pumapagitna samin na makasama siya,” she told STAR.

Ali and her father’s conversation only lasted for three minutes.

Masa then pleaded with the public to stay at home as a way to help frontliners who also have families waiting for them to come home.

“Please stay at home, so that these frontliners can go home to their kids waiting every single day for them to arrive. Please stay at home so that you can save the frontliners’ lives at stake. Please stay at home for the kids to hug their parents once again. Please stay at home because these frontliners missed their families so much,” she said.

She added: “You people don’t know how much their sacrifice is for us. Please help them by staying at home.”
