Angkas offers food delivery service amid community quarantine

Angkas has launched its food delivery service to aid its bikers and customers affected by the imposed community quarantine in Luzon.

The motorcycle taxi-hailing firm announced its latest feature through its social media accounts on Monday.

Although delivering food is not their expertise, they aim to help their bikers earn a living and cater to the needs of the public.

“Sinimulan namin ang service na ‘to para makatulong sa Angkas bikers at para sa atin na kailangan ng food delivery sa gitna ng quarantine,” Angkas said on Facebook.

Angkas added that it “will not take commission on the initiative” assuring that 100 percent of the delivery fee goes to its riders.

The service is now operational with delivery hours from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Customers can order directly from Angkas’ list of participating restaurants without having to book through the app.

Here’s how it works:

A no-touch interaction between the rider and the customer is implemented to practice social distancing.

Angkas earlier called for donations and distributed sacks of rice to its 23,000 bikers displaced by the suspension of transport network vehicle services under the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
