GMA temporarily suspends admission of live studio audience due to rise in COVID-19 cases

Broadcasting network GMA announced Tuesday that they will be temporarily suspending the admission of live studio audiences after President Rodrigo Duterte declared a state of public health emergency due to the rise of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases in the country.

“GMA Network is temporarily suspending the admission of live studio audiences  in all our programs such as All-Out Sundays, Centerstage, Mars Pa More, Wowowin, Wowowin Primetime, Idol sa Kusina, The Boobay and Tekla Show, Sarap Di Ba?, and Tonight With Arnold Clavio,” the network said. 

They added that the network’s external activities and events in Metro Manila are postponed until further notice. 

GMA assured that these measures they are undertaking is to ensure the safety and well-being of those concerned. 

Early Tuesday, its rival network ABS-CBN also announced a temporary ban of live studio audience for its various programs. (READ: ABS-CBN temporarily bans live studio audience as COVID-19 cases in Phl rise)

As of writing, there are 33 COVID-19 positive cases in the country. Health officials have advised the public to observe social distancing and to stay at home as much as possible.
