Viva big boss Vic del Rosario said he has advised Sarah Geronimo’s mother Divine to just let her daughter be in her decision to marry Matteo Guidicelli.
Sarah, 31, and Matteo, 29, had a hush-hush wedding on February 20 that only invited Matteo’s family.
In an interview with Raffy Tulfo for his radio program Wanted sa Radyo on Monday, Boss Vic — as he is called in showbiz circles — said that he was called to go to the restaurant of a luxury hotel in BGC to talk to Mommy Divine, after she came uninvited to the dinner, which turned out to be a wedding reception.
Viva is the talent management agency that runs the careers of the newlyweds.
The sudden arrival of Divine, who was reportedly left in the dark on the nuptials, resulted to a “commotion.” (READ: From shouting match to crying bride: Bodyguard bares details of commotion at Sarah-Matteo wedding.)
“Ang alam ko nga dumating si Mommy Divine kasi sorpresa. Siempre, parang in a way, nag-gatecrash siya dun sa party. Mayroon konting pag-uusap sila at pagtatalo. Siempre si Sarah ang apektado, siya yung nasa gitna at iyak ng iyak. Yun ang alam kong nangyari,” Boss Vic recalled.
It was Matteo who requested him to intervene, he said.
“Si Matteo ang tumawag sa akin, sabi niya, baka mabuti dumating ka dito at maawat yung gulo. Agad-agad tumakbo ako dun, siguro walang 10 to 15 minutes andun na ako. Pumunta ako sa loob ng kwarto at agad-agad sabi ko kay Sarah, mabuti pa lumabas ka at kami ng mommy mo mag-usap.”
He described Mommy Divine as hysterical because she was caught off guard by the couple’s move to wed.
“Tungkol sa nangyari, nasorpresa siya. Nung time na yun, parang hysterical. Siempre madami siyang galit na sinasabi, ako naman eh siempre, binibigyan ko siya ng time para ilabas yung kanyang sama ng loob.”
But he advised Mommy Divine to let the couple be because they are already married.
“Pero kino-console ko siya na, Mommy, nag-asawa na na yung dalawa. Sa tingin ko dapat pagbigyan na natin. Desisyon ni Sarah at Matteo, pagbiyan na natin.”
He maintained that the reaction of Mommy Divine was typical but he is positive that everything will be resolved in due time.
“Typical mother na nagulat, na nabigla. Yun ang reaction niya nung time na yun pero sa tingin ko, it’s just a matter of time, magiging maayos lahat yan.”
No punching incident, according to Sarah
Boss Vic was interviewed over the phone after Sarah’s close-in security detail complained to the TV5 news anchor Raffy Tulfo about being allegedly “punched in the throat” by Matteo after the February 20 wedding.

The Viva head honcho said he didn’t witness the punching incident as alleged by the bodyguard, identified as Jerry Tamara, who earlier claimed in a police blotter report that he was accused of informing Divine about the wedding.
The security detail maintained that he was also clueless on the wedding but was surprised when Sarah told them to go home without her. “First time niya ginawa yun na pinauwi kami ng una,” Tamara said in his interview with Tulfo.
He said he had to report to Divine, his employer, the whereabouts of Sarah because it was his job.
“Di ko talaga alam may kasalan nangyari, blanko talaga kami. Siempre ako Sir, nag-text sa akin si Ma’am Sarah na mauna na kayo umuwi, siempre yung amo ko si Ma’am Divine, siempre mag-rereport kami sa kanya… Sabi niya, stand by kayo dyan at pupunta na ako at malapit na ako,” Tamara told Tulfo.
“Nabigla nalang kami nung pumasok kami dun (sa restaurant), ‘wife’ na tawag niya (Matteo) kay Ma’am Sarah.
“Sa akin naman po, wala akong pakialam sa ano nila. Ang sa akin lang po, yung ginawa sa akin ni Sir Matteo, bakit niya ako sinuntok na wala akong ginagawa sa kanya.”
He also alleged that Matteo’s lawyer and mother approached him after the incident. “Lumapit pa nga yung abogado niya, yung mommy niya, yung tita niya, pagpasensyahan mo na sa init ng ulo, sama ng loob, kaya ka nasuntok,” he alleged, adding that he’s determined to file charges against the actor.
Nevertheless, Boss Vic said he was able to immediately talk to Sarah herself who strongly denied it happened.
“Wala siyang nakita at wala siyang alam na sinuntok daw ang bodyguard ni Matteo. So ayon kay Sarah, hindi totoo yun. Walang baril, walang lahat, wala siyang nadinig,” he said.
