Kpop group EXO cancels fan meet in Phl due to nCoV

Safety first, Phixos!

The supposed fan meet of Kpop boy group EXO Manila on February 22 has been cancelled in light of the novel coronavirus (nCoV) outbreak.

The Philippine counterpart of Korean cosmetic brand Nature Republic made the announcement on its Facebook page on Wednesday.

Nature Republic Philippines shared that both local and foreign teams “have been anxiously monitoring the progress of the situation with the nCoV virus” for the past few weeks.

Citing the number of nCoV cases worldwide, the statement further said: “With nCoV figures globally number of infected people increasing by the day (currently at 24,000) and death toll already at 500 (Note: 490 as of February 6 according to official figures by WHO), there is no sign of slowing down with still too much uncertainty on the current and upcoming situation.”

The organization said that it would be for the “better good of the majority” as they care for everyone’s safety.

“Therefore, we opt to take this path and with a heavy heart… We regret to inform all of you that the Journey to the Nature Republic in Manila on Feb 22, 2020 will be cancelled.”

As of February 5, there have been three confirmed nCoV cases in the country, all from the virus epicenter in Wuhan, China, while 133 patients are still under investigation.
