Ai-Ai delas Alas claps back at ‘bashers’ criticizing her stand against same-sex marriage

Ai-Ai delas Alas took to social media to respond to “bashers” criticizing her recent remark on same-sex marriage.

During a press conference for her upcoming comedy film D’Ninang, the comedienne-actress said that while she has nothing against same-sex relationships, she doesn’t believe in same-sex marriage, saying that it goes against the teachings of the Bible.

She also mentioned declining several gay friends who invite her to become a godparent in their wedding.

Her remark irked netizens mostly coming from the LGBT community, including celebrity photographer BJ Pascual and actor-writer Juan Miguel Severo, who took to Twitter to express their displeasure over her stand against same-sex marriage.

On Friday, the actress posted a quote on Instagram that says: “Before you talk, listen. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. Before you click, think.”

“AT sa mga bashers sa Twitter kahit wala akong Twitter ?…..Kay God kayo mag-explain, huwag sa akin dahil nag-share lang ako ng Kanyang mga salita na nakasulat sa Bibliya…,” she wrote in the caption.

She also noted that she’s ready to be their godparent should the time come when their minds will be “enlightened”.

GOD is a forgiving GOD … GOD BLESS EVERYONE ? TO GOD BE THE GLORY.”

She also included the hashtags #nagrepostlangakongkatolikongpinoy, #akoysumusunodlamang and #takotakokayLORDkesabashers in her post.
