BINI Aiah raises almost P1M in donation drive for Cebu earthquake victims

Cebuana BINI member Aiah has stepped up for her kababayans in Cebu struck by a devastating earthquake through a donation drive under her “Aiahadvocacy” project.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, the outreach initiative announced its campaign to gather monetary donations and relief goods for victims and areas hit by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake, which left the province under a state of calamity and still experiencing aftershocks.

“LET’S HELP CEBU 🩵 In light of the recent earthquake in Cebu, we are opening our donation channels to provide direct assistance to the victims. Together, let us extend help and compassion in these trying times,” Aiahadvocacy wrote on its official X page.

“Let us stand in solidarity with our fellow Filipinos as we work towards recovery and hope,” it concluded its post.

Fan clubs of BINI and its members quickly rallied behind the cause, pooling in donations to support the initiative. As of Oct. 8, contributions had reached over ₱900,000.

In a recent update, the donation drive initially planned to personally distribute relief goods to victims in northern Cebu. However, after assessing safety concerns due to ongoing aftershocks and reports of road accidents, organizers decided to turn over 1,000 relief packs instead to the Philippine Red Cross and the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who will deliver the aid on their behalf.

The original plan involved transporting the goods via truck with a team of 20 volunteers, with Aiah joining the trip. However, scheduling conflicts made it difficult for her to return in time for her work commitments the following day, prompting the decision to entrust the delivery to partner organizations.

Aside from the fundraising, the BINI member personally visited the Cebu Provincial Capitol where the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) continues to coordinate relief operations.

“Her visit brought smiles, energy, and encouragement to everyone on site. Thank you, BINI Aiah, for your time and support for our fellow Cebuanos!” the Cebu provincial government wrote on its official Facebook page.

Launched in 2024, Aiahadvocacy is described by the singer as a “special love club project,” with activities centered on community visits and outreach initiatives.
